I have really kicked all kinds of ass today on my projects!! I contacted a former state congressman and sonnie Hereford (who was the first child to integrate an Alabama public school) and asked them to write letters of support for the nomination I am writing. I think dr. Burke realy stands a strong chance!!
I also got my research together to create a power point presentation for tomorrow morning on mills in huntsville specifically the one there is little history written on. So I feel confidant that between now and the morn I can make a large continuing Ed class engaged and happy. They contribute large amounts of money to the library foundation, and they are vocal. So I wanted to really do well.
Then I was able to find an old un corrupted copy of my civil war program. There are just a few updates that need to be done but all is well on that front it seems. I'm going to go down to a friends office and test it on her equipment.
Another interesting thing that happened...the director of the Weeden house museum called me to catch up. Over the course of the dialogue I told her we should h ave a christmas market fundraiser. I told her about my books and she has stuff that the museum sells. It's a great little museum ad would be so perfect for a Christmas market. She loved the idea and is pitching it to her board.
In the Society of American archivist there are round table groups. The panel I am on are sending it for endorsement requests. I sent one off today. It would be cool if we got the public library special collections and archives round table endorsement. All sorts of good opportunities are happening and I'm going for it. I guess that makes me a positive Pollyanna. There really is something to choosing happiness or wallowing in doldrums. Lets us lick our wounds like old hound dogs when its needed and then get back up! I guess you know which one I chose today :)
